I am a full-time artist. I live in a small, coastal town one hundred miles north of San Francisco, California, surrounded by redwood trees and dramatic ocean vistas. Having said that, my work has little to do with this beautiful landscape! My aesthetic exploration revolves around the inner landscape of psycho-spiritual states and conceptual structures as expressed primarily through symbol and geometry.
I received a BA in Studio Art from UCLA College of Fine Arts in 1989.
Over the past two decades, I have had businesses in photography and fashion accessories design, and several periods of in-depth study, including a three-year immersion, of yoga philosophy in India. In the US, I studied an additional three years at Stony Brook University in New York and did graduate coursework at Columbia University in the areas of Religious Studies and Art History of South Asia.
I have an ongoing, personal study of the religious and philosophical traditions of South Asia, and my art is directly inspired by this area of my life.
